 Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. (hereafter Changan or CHANA in short)
is one of the Big Four automotive OEMs in China. Changan has four
major production bases across the country, including 11 vehicle
assembly plants and two engine plants. Changan's automotive
products include both passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
Changan currently has joint ventures with Suzuki, Ford, Mazda,
Volvo, and PSA Peugeot-Citroen. In 2010, Changan produced a total
of 2.4 million vehicles. Changan's own domestic brand sales ranked
first in China and 13th in the world, with a brand value of 27
billion RMB Yuan, making Changan one of the most valuable brands in
the Chinese automotive industry.The Changan US R&D Center, Inc.
is an American based company, 100% owned by Changan Automobile Co.,
Ltd. On January 18, 2011, Changan US R&D Center, Inc.
officially held its grand opening ceremony in Detroit, America's
Motor City . The Changan US R&D Center, Inc. is the first
research and development center ever established by a Chinese
automotive OEM in Michigan. Changan established its first overseas
R&D center in Turin, Italy in 2005, followed shortly thereafter
by a similar one in Yokohama, Japan. In June 2010, an R&D
center was established in Nottingham, UK, and now complimented with
the new R&D center in US. With other locations in Chongqing,
Shanghai, Beijing, Harbin and Jiangxi of China, Changan has
successfully built a global R&D system of nine locations in
five countries, each with its own focus across Asia, Europe and
